CHICKEN GRAVY (WITHOUT COCONUT)

I should first thank each and every viewer for all the support you give me,Within 20 days from the date of blogging I have got 1600 viewers !! I know still I have  long way to go but for me I feel this is all bcoz of  your support and motivation made me this far!!!!

Now coming to todays recipe.

Chicken is one of the favorite in our home and the most important thing in cooking chicken is however way you cook you can bring a good taste to chicken and it is easy cooking also.

I have so many methods of chicken gravy in my recipe book and this is one of the best and simple method.

The recipe is as below,

SERVINGS : 3 nos

INGREDIENTS :
Chicken pcs with bone            –   1/2 kg.
Onion                                      –   1 (big )
Tomato                                   –   2 medium sized
Turmeric powder                    –   1 tsp
Chilli powder                          –  1 tsp
Chicken masala                     –  2 tsp.
Salt                                        –  1 tsp

Curd                                       –  2 tsp.

Gingelly oil                             –  2 tsp.

Mustard                                  – 1/2 tsp

FOR GRINDING :

Onion small                                                          –   3/4 cup
Dry red chillies                                                      -   3 nos
Cinnamon 1” piece                                               –   3 pcs
Cloves                                                                   –  6 nos
Fennel seeds / Sombu                                          –  1 tsp
Cumin / Zeera                                                        –  1 tsp
Poppy seeds / khus khus                                       –  1/2 tsp
Ginger                                                                    –  2” piece
Garlic                                                                     –  10 pods
Coriander powder / coriander seeds                      –  2 tsp
Roasted channa dal / pottu kadalai / varukadalai   –  1 tsp.
Curry leaves                                                            –  a sprig .






PREPARATION :
1) Marinate chicken pcs with salt , turmeric powder , chilli powder ,chicken masala ,curd and set aside for half an hour . Chop your onion and tomatoes.


2) In the mean time grind our grinding ingredients to fine paste .

3)In kadai add oil , when oil gets heated add onions and saute till it becomes translucent followed by curry leaves and saute till done.



4) Then add tomatoes and fry till mushy .











5) Once done empty our ground masala to the pan and let it boil for 5 mins till the raw smell leaves the pan , then add the marinated chicken pcs and a cup of water , check for salt .


6) Close the pan and let the gravy boil till chicken pcs are cooked soft and tender .

7) When gravy reaches required consistency garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.

 
8) Serve hot with Rice , Idli, Dosa and Chapatis
NOTES :

1) Don’t add channa dal more than one tsp as it has a tendency to dominate the actual chicken taste.
