CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

தமிழில் காண : கிளிக்
Hi All,
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING!! I promised to post this cream cheese frosting recipe two days before but somehow I forgot about it.And today I accidentally saw this recipe was pending so immediately drafting to post it now.
Redvelvet cake and cream cheese frosting are best combinations , though the cake itself tasted very rich this cream cheese added more richness to the cake.May be this is the reason why Valentine's day's signature cake is red velvet cake.
I personally advise you if you are really interested in baking cakes a lot , then pls buy a electric beater ,yes without electric beater I really feel very tough in making frosting so this is my personal experience.
Now here below the recipe for cream cheese frosting for you,

INGREDIENTS :
Cream cheese - 200 gms.
Butter – 80 gms (appx may be 1/2 cup – chopped).
Powdered sugar – 2 cups ( 1 1/2 cup normal sugar will yield about 2 cups powdered sugar).
Vanilla essence – 2 tsp.

METHOD :
  1. Bring all the ingredients to room temperature.
  2. Beat butter till smooth and creamy , empty it in a bowl.
  3. Beat cream cheese also till smooth and creamy , empty in the butter bowl.
Now beat slowly butter and cream cheese till mixed together.
  4. Add vanilla essence , powdered sugar little by little and start beating in high speed till they form smooth and stiff peaks.
  5. When they form stiff peaks ,stop adding sugar .
  6. Frost the cake , chill and enjoy.
  7. You can refrigerate the frosting , but remove from refrigerator 1 hour before serving.
  8. Adding sugar is appx only , keep on adding little by little until peaks.
NOTE :
  1. As I made this cream cheese in late night , I was not able to take picture clearly so pls bear with photographs.

    HAPPY COOKING!!

KADAMBA / KANAVA MASALA /SQUID FISH CURRY

Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai. One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible. Other than that the fish tastes heaven , spicy, yummy and very easy to cook. I have
